Mexico’s Breaking Bad: Ex-Cops Arrested at Cartel’s DIY Crematorium
Published:
Mexico’s justice system just got another plot twist as two former cops were busted for allegedly working with a cartel’s secret “extermination center.” The site, discovered by families searching for missing loved ones, contained charred remains, personal belongings, and what authorities described as a cartel training ground—because apparently, crime now comes with an internship program.
One officer was accused of kidnapping a man and delivering him to the ranch, though the victim later escaped. The arrested officers were part of a police force whose chief is also in custody, proving once again that in Mexico, law enforcement and organized crime are just two sides of the same peso.
Attorney General Alejandro Gertz has vowed “the truth will come out,” but considering how cartel cases usually go, it might be safer to assume it’ll get lost in the paperwork—if not the bonfire.
