Mechanic’s Defense: ‘I Only Fix Cars, Not Lives'

Published:

KUALA LUMPUR – A local car workshop owner found himself in court today, not for overcharging customers, but for charges far more serious—allegations of repeatedly assaulting his 15-year-old stepdaughter.

Despite the prosecution laying out disturbing details, the 41-year-old man remained firm in his plea of innocence. His defense? A classic "not me" strategy, as his lawyer assured the court that there was no evidence beyond the accusations.

The court, seemingly unimpressed, granted him bail at RM15,000 while imposing strict conditions, including staying far away from the victim. Meanwhile, the public’s reaction ranged from outrage to the usual online debates about justice, punishment, and whether the accused will suddenly develop selective amnesia when facing cross-examination.

Legal experts note that while the justice system is slow, it does eventually reach a verdict. Whether that verdict will reflect reality—or creative storytelling—remains to be seen.

The trial will continue, with prosecutors determined to prove their case while the defense hopes for the best (or the weakest witness statements).
